  • About The Collection

    ‘The Argyll Collection’ was established between 1970 and 1990 by Jim Tyre and Naomi Mitchison. It was created as a learning resource for the young people of Argyll and Bute. The collection consists of 173 pieces including prints, paintings, ceramics, textiles, drawing, sculpture and mixed media works, covering a wide range of subject matter. It has become a snapshot of Scottish art and is an important public asset and a rich and relevant teaching aid. Read More...
